Visiting Ministers

Each summer, Church of the Redeemer in Longport welcomes worshippers and visitors to its Summer Church services featuring Episcopal liturgy and a tradition of guest clergy.

Throughout the summer season, visiting ministers from around the country join the congregation to lead worship, preach, and share their unique perspectives and experiences. These special guest clergy enrich the worship experience while maintaining the traditions and beauty of Episcopal liturgy.

Whether you are a seasonal resident, vacationer, or local community member, Summer Church at Church of the Redeemer offers a welcoming place for prayer, reflection, and fellowship during the summer months.

All are invited to attend and experience the warmth of the congregation and the inspiration of visiting ministers throughout the season.

John Baker

Margie Baker

Assistant Rector at St. John's, West Hartford, CT.

Margie Baker is a priest in the diocese of CT, where she serves as Assistant Rector at St. John's, West Hartford. She doesn't like talking about herself but loves sharing the stories of our faith and asking big questions. When she's not churching, Margie enjoys running, reading, and music.

Justin Lanier

Fr. Justin Lanier comes to S. Clement’s from Bennington, Vermont, where he was the 27th Rector of St. Peter’s Church in the Diocese of Vermont. Fr. Justin’s formation includes time in the Trappist Monastery St. Benedict’s, Snowmass, Colorado, where he was under the abbacy of Dom. Joseph Boyle, O.C.S.O. and direction of Fr. Thomas Keating O.C.S.O. Fr. Justin continued to be guided by these two men until their deaths in 2018.

Tim Gavin

On some level I also felt the call to the priesthood and to chaplaincy. Even when I was a wild teenager, staying out all hours of the night and having more fun than anyone should ever have, God was calling me. In my senior year of high school, when I initially responded to God’s call and entered a religious order, people scratched their heads in confusion. After I left the religious order and was accepted into the Episcopal Church, I still felt the call but ignored it. Finally, in my early forties, I conceded. At that point, my true journey to school chaplaincy started.

Reverand Daniel T. Moore

Father Daniel Moore is the 27th Rector of Saint Paul’s Church.

Before his arrival at St. Paul’s in October 2017, Fr. Moore served parishes in North Carolina and Florida. He is a graduate of Duke University (M.Div., 2015), the University of Virginia (M.A., 2009), and James Madison University (B.A., 2005).

Raised as a Baptist and schooled as a Reformed evangelical, one could say that Fr. Moore is a relative newcomer to The Episcopal Church. He was confirmed in 2007 and ordained to the priesthood in 2015.

Rev. Rodney Roehner

Rector, St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Maple Gelnn, PA.

Before joining St. Matthew’s, Fr. Rodney was the rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in New Smyrna Beach, FL, for five years. Prior to that, he served as Associate Rector and school chaplain at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in New Orleans, LA.

Bishop Sean W. Rowe

Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church

The Most Rev. Sean W. Rowe was elected presiding bishop and primate of The Episcopal Church in June 2024 and took office on Nov. 1 for a nine-year term. In this role, he serves as the church’s chief pastor and CEO. Known for his expertise in organizational learning and adaptive change, Rowe is committed to strengthening support for local ministry and mission.

Rev. Jason Shank

Priest in Charge at Middleham and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lusby and Solomon’s Island, Maryland.

Pastor Jason was born and raised in Maryland. He attended Messiah University in Grantham, Pennsylvania and received his B.A. in Biblical Studies. After college, he attended seminary at Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary (now United Seminary) and Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC and received his Master of Divinity. Pastor Jason was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church and served three appointments during his time in the UMC in Crofton, Frederick and California, Maryland.

Father Tommy Thompson

The Reverend Tommy A. Thompson is the VII Rector of Washington Memorial Chapel: The Episcopal Church at Valley Forge. Father Tommy is originally from Nashville, TN and moved to Pennsylvania in 2012 after serving various parishes in Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia. Prior to being called as Rector at WMC, he was Rector at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church, West Vincent. Father Tommy received his Diploma in Anglican Studies from Virginia Theological Seminary (Alexandria, VA), his M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary (Wilmore, KY), and his B.A. in Religion/Pastoral Ministries from Trevecca Nazarene University (Nashville, TN).

Emily Zimbrick-Rogers

Emily is a priest in The Episcopal Church. She is a PhD student at the University of Aberdeen, studying lived religion and everyday faith. She is trained in theology, creative writing, and gender studies and uses these lenses in her ministry, writing, and research. She is passionate about pastoral presence and acompañamiento, or walking alongside people in their faith jour
